The LIDAR topographic solution is recommended by the millimeter precision of the point cloud generated and the ability to penetrate the vegetation, the land measurements being not affected by the vegetation. The solution is viable only on surfaces of the order of less than 10 hectares per flight - as opposed to the photogrammetric solution which has an efficiency of over 1000 ha per flight but does not penetrate the vegetation.
